Based on the 14nm ‘Comet Lake’ architecture,

Intel has launched new 10th Generation CPUs including the Intel Core i9 with 10 Cores. Intel launched a bunch of 10th Generation CPUs and the eye-catching is the Intel Core i9. The flagship CPU has finally arrived for gamers. The new CPUs come with a slight update to the 9th Gen ‘Coffee Lake’ series. Intel has continuously been working on the same models and refining them like Core i3, i5, i7, etc. Intel says that refining and improving clock speeds more important for lightly threaded workloads such as gaming, as well as more cores and threads across much of the lineup.

The significant launch that caught the attention of overall tech buddies is the launch of a new top-end Core-i9-10900K model with 10 cores and Hyper-Threading. This CPU has a base speed of 3.7GHz and a turbo boost of 4.8GHz for all the cores or a 5.3GHz turbo boost for one core. Using Intel’s Turbo Boost Max 3.0, the highest boost speed

achieved which previously seen only in Core X-series. Thermal Velocity Boost also comes as a feature, which totally and specifically depends on thermal and power variables. The Thermal Design Power(TDP) rated at 125W and this Core i9 10th Gen Model fully overclockable. The Intel quoted the price of this model at $488. Intel also launched a variant model i.e. 65W Core i9-10900 in corresponding to this model which is a non-unlocked model and has a base and turbo boost speed of 2.8GHz and 5.2GHz respectively.

Intel says that the world’s fastest Gaming Processor launch by them named as Intel Core-i9 10900K 10th Gen with 10 cores. Intel officially says in comparison to older Core i9-9900K, the framerates are 33 percent better in specific games and 18 percent faster video encoding. With comparison with 3 years older CPU i.e. Core i7-7700K, those improvements exceed and reach up to 81 percent and 35 percent respectively.

Except for Core i9 10900K, Intel also launched new Core i7-10700K with 8 cores and 16 threads which power and benefitted by Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0 but not Thermal Velocity Boost. Similarly, the i5 series gets a nice Core i5 with six cores and 12 threads. Both Core i7 and i5 series have 2 variant models i.e. one with unlocked 125W and other with 65W. New Core i3 models feature four cores with Hyper-Threading.

Now, talking about the RAM channels and speed supporting of the new models. DDR4 RAM supported by all the new CPUs. Specifically talking about the speed, Core i9, and i7 supports DDR4-2933 RAM and below them max out at DDR4-2666. Intel also has carried out its responsibility with the integrated UHD Graphics 630 and 610 with no highlighted features. But the variant of Core i9, Core i9-10900KF do not have integrated Graphics Capabilities.

Intel knows that with new CPUs, they need to make some changes and update on the sockets and other interfaces . All the new Intel CPUs now use the new LGA 1200 socket Interface, breaking compatibility with existing motherboards.

Intel not only launched CPUs and new socket interface but also launched platform controllers quietly such as Z490, H470, and H410 platform controllers to motherboard manufacturers.
